There are so many things that can be said about using the Law of Attraction in attracting soulmates, here are some thoughts for now…

Treat yourself how you want your soul mate to be. See in yourself the things you are looking for.

Often people are looking for qualities on the outside which they feel they do not have on the inside, they project them onto the outside world and expect it to compensate for what they’re looking for within, whether that be confidence, love, self value, beauty, wealth, etc etc

If you got your soul mate what would you have? What would you feel? And how/where are in your life currently relative to this?

If when you ask that you get a positive emotion then your soul mate’s on their way. If it’s not so positive and you feel your soul mate will provide these, work on having these qualities in your life – and I say qualities, which is FEEL as if you have them, live from the place of having them. You can feel beautiful no matter how you look, you can feel wealthy no matter how much you have. Your skill is in seeing the beauty, wealth (or any other quality). If you can’t see it how can you expect someone else to?

You will then find you’re not looking for your soul mate in the same way – because you have what you’re looking for, and your soul mate will be an expression of that, rather than trying to fill a gap so to speak, it will be a different feeling/experience – but in turn you are also more attractive (spiritually/vibrationally) for what you’re looking for and you are getting closer to it. As your attention is on what you have (than on what you lack), that will manifest on a physical level. You will also be more ‘attractive’ and people will be drawn to you because they will feel it vibrationally. They will see you are not looking towards others to fill something you feel may be lacking but instead are in your own joy and they will want to be a part of it, and it grows and grows

In actual fact, everything and everyone you attract is your ’soulmate’ because everything is from spirit (where you have come from too) and everything you experience is a match to the vibrational signal you are giving, though classically it’s referred to as that wonderful magical synchronistic experience.

Visualization is by far one of the most powerful tools for good setting and attracting what you want. Yet few people know how to properly visualize. With the right technique you can begin to see outstanding results in successfully attracting what you want, granted you full apply what you learn.

First you are visualizing all the time. You may not be aware of it but you are always conjuring up images in your mind. Here is a great test to help you understand the most effective way visualize. Think of the last time you were deep in thought. Now try to remember what that felt like. If you can recall that time, you will notice that you were deep inside of yourself. You were unaware of anyone or anything and as you were allowing yourself to visualize you could feel clearly that you were having the experience as if it were real. That is the power of visualization.

When people ask all the time How do I visualize the things I want, I tell them the same way you visualize the things that you don’t want. You see when you are feeling anxious and fearful you lock yourself away in your inner mind with those images. You loose sight of other possibilities and if it is something that happened to you, then you recreate it in its full detail with all your emotions all over again.

Try to immerse yourself with full emotions when you are trying to create the things you want. Many thoughts may come to distract you but if you will redirect your mind to what you do want your mind will be trained to hold that thought.

A lot has been said about the power of intention, yet many still do not get its true significance. This article is written with the intention (no pun intended) to clarify by looking at the mental components and processes of intention. Once you have seen the full picture, it will be easier to understand why intention is so powerful.

One of the limitations of conveying a message or meaning with words is that the word itself has deeper meanings which we do not see, thus we miss out the deeper processes and qualities that are associated with the particular word. Intention is one such word. To understand it, we need to look deeper.

Definition of Intention

The definition of intention is, according to Merriam Webster Online Dictionary, a determination to act in a certain way. Intention, therefore, is a desire to act. We can see here that there are two very important components to the quality of intention.

The first is the desire or determination and the second is the action involved. For intention to work for you, both components must be there.

Desire

The desire we talk about here is one that is clear and is associated with a will or determination to act on the desire. This clear desire or intent in our mind is our asking or letting the universe know that this is what we want to manifest. The act of publicly declaring your intention works to clarify what you want as well as to strengthen your resolve to act on it. You become committed. You are bound by your words. You also weakened your inner resistance to your stated intention.

When your intention is clear, the universe can easily process the instructions you gave it. This is in contrast to a wishy-washy, uncertain, non-committal kind of desire or wanting that serves only to confuse the universe and everyone else trying to help you. Ask and it is given, and with a clear committed intention, the universe obediently gives you what you asked for.

The Art of Allowing

However, asking is only the first step in the process of creation. The next step is allowing yourself to receive. This process of allowing is not as simple as it seems for it requires great faith in the universe. You cannot receive if you do not believe that the universe will provide.

This is an interesting paradox.

When you do not believe that the universe will provide, then you get exactly what you believe. In this case, you get nothing. When this happens, then it unfortunately reinforced your lack of trust in the universe and perpetuates the vicious cycle of distrust in the universe. On the other hand, when you have absolute faith in the universe, you get what you believe and what you asked for gets manifested for you.

Thus the world’s most famous manifestor said, “Ask and know that it is done, and you shall receive it.”

In short, ask – believe – receive!

So, what can we do if we do not believe in the universe? How can we replace this limiting belief with a better one? There are in fact many methods to transform our beliefs. We will delve into this in another article.

Action

To receive, you have to act on the little coincidences, synchronicity and opportunities that seem to come to you at the right place at the right time. Acting on them in alignment with your intention will move you towards your goal, which is the manifested product of your intention. Intention, then, is the cause and your goal manifested the effect. This is true for all creation.

Each must begin in the mind (intention) and ends in physical manifestation (form).

Are you ready for this?

It really is a LAW.

Okay! It is not the kind you find at city hall, in law books or even at law school.

It is the kind that is happening all the time. I really mean, all the time, every second in your life.

Whether you are in a good mood, bad mood or unsure of how you feel it is happening every moment.

What this all means is that you have attracted all of it, whether it is good or bad.

You are responsible for whatever comes into your life.

I know that for some of you that is painful to hear.

I can hear you saying right now “Why in the world would I do something like that?”

You have two kinds of thoughts and you may only be aware of your conscious thoughts and there is another kind of thought that is very, very powerful.

These thoughts are in the background and those thoughts are the ones that are attracting what you are getting into your life.

These are called subconscious thoughts. When they are in harmony with what you consciously intend to attract then this is what you will attract.

And when this happens life is great!

Have you ever had thoughts and beliefs, and somehow they were not a match to your conscious dreams and your wishes and you didn’t attract what you wanted no matter how much you wanted it?

Here is why! Those subconscious beliefs have more strength than your conscious beliefs.

For some of you this may be what runs your life.

Now forget about blaming yourself or feeling guilty. After all, you weren’t aware of the unconscious beliefs working in a way that they have in been in your life until maybe now.

Now that you are aware, you can do something different.

When you get rid of the inner self limiting beliefs this helps to speed up the Law of Attraction and get whatever it is you’re trying to achieve or attract.

Hang on to your hat! It happens fast.

You will be using the Law of Attraction deliberately and intentionally

You will have the Law of Attraction work for you all of the time rather than, some of the time and in way that you want.

Now you can experienced the incredible power of the Law of Attraction, and take it to a whole new level when eliminating those self limiting beliefs.

When you do this your subconscious beliefs will match your conscious beliefs and magic will happen in your life using the Law of Attraction.

Understanding oneself, one’s drives, one’s emotions, the way in which one’s mind works, is the minimum requirement for successful relationships. Without this understanding of oneself, without taking the time to learn about oneself, relationships can be merely a tug of war between two independent egos, instead of a coming together.

Finding yourself is easy if you know the tricks, and the first trick is that travelling to distant lands or hiring an enlightened guru is not necessary. Nor do you have to become a monk or nun! All you have to do is cultivate five things, and once these five things are put into action, they can point you toward yourself wherever you are.

Once they are established, it’s simply a matter of using them to observe yourself, right here, right now. Within your body and mind is everything you need to find your deeper self. Actually, all things of the universe are right here, within you, represented by your physical aspects, your consciousness, your feelings, your perceptions (labeling) and your thoughts.

Only when we become shrewd enough to see beyond our labeling; which is the outward appearance of things based on our past memories, can we penetrate into our self – which is the one who is shrewd, the one who labels, the one who holds such strong opinions, and the one who loves and hates. Only then do we come to an understanding about everything in the universe, including our bodies and minds. Only then do we understand that they are innocent and cause no problems whatsoever. And only then do we understand that they all have the same characteristics; namely that they all change, that none of them have a “self” standing behind their obvious appearances, and that it is only our perceptions of our own “self” that cause our stress.

Until we become shrewd enough to understand these three characteristics by cultivating the five steps below, we will mistakenly believe the opposite of the three characteristics; i.e., we will mistakenly believe that everything is stable, we will believe that something stands behind everything, and we will believe that things outside of our “selves” are what cause our stress.

Dedication develops when we have seen enough of this world to conclude that something other than this self-centered treadmill we find ourselves trapped on is possible.

Perseverance increases when we begin to recognize our potential to be truly free from negative emotions.

Mindfulness is enhanced when we see the absurdity of the endless circles our minds go through while accomplishing the same predictable, unsatisfactory results.

Concentration strengthens when we realize that our scattered minds are pathways to confusion.

And shrewdness is just something that is there because we don’t like to be fooled, especially by ourselves.

Mindfulness is remembering to be alert to all possibilities in life; taking the blinders off. We should be mindful of life at all times. Shrewdness is investigating. When we combine mindfulness and shrewdness, we remember to investigate life openly without bias. Also, when we are investigating, mindfulness reminds us what to investigate, and keeps us from simply labeling things instead of seeing them truly

When shrewdness wanders beyond the boundaries of mindfulness, false perceptions appear, and we begin to label, which is assuming we understand and know something and therefore look no closer. Instead of seeing everything new and original each time, we label it from memory, living in the past, and our lives become merely dead things in our minds instead of vibrant and alive. This is how we mostly live, in dead images of the past. This is why we are truly not alive and awake.

Mindfulness is awareness; Shrewdness is contemplation. Mindfulness keeps watch over shrewdness so that the shrewdness is always directed inwardly, always toward the correct subjects and objects that will take us to understanding of ourselves instead of wasting time judging others. When one focuses with mindfulness and shrewdness, it is easy to discover the three characteristics of life, which are, 1. Stress, 2. The changing natures of all things. And 3. No self. These three things are always with us, and once we establish this inward mindfulness and shrewdness, then whenever we direct the mind toward any problem, we can be very wise and intelligent.

When contemplating with mindfulness and shrewdness, you will see that all contemplations are done in the present. You may have seen a friend have serious problems in the past and project that into the future (I will someday have problems as well), but the contemplation of this will bring you right back into the present to you, or your “I” thought; your “self.” It is you, the present you, who will someday be affected.

When one contemplates, one is looking for causes; causes for stress, causes for worry, and causes for your fear, and when one develops contemplation by utilizing shrewdness, then one eventually understands the mind, including all of its doubts and fears. What makes us displeased or pleased? What is the cause of this displeasure? Is it the people we encounter and come into contact with, or something else? What is it that judges all these things? Can we ever be shrewd enough to find out what it is that judges?

Other than the judging, aren’t all of these things and people that we come into contact with throughout the universe innocent in themselves? Isn’t it only “us” and our “I” thought that changes them from neutral into horrible or wonderful things? This is where we must penetrate, to this “I” thought, this “knowing,” this something in the mind that discriminates, loves and hates, attaches to and pushes away.

If we use our dedication, perseverance, mindfulness, concentration, and shrewdness, soon we will be able to recognize this “I” thought, this “knowing” the moment it moves and causes all our stress and problems by its hating and loving, attaching and pushing away.

We will understand with wisdom that within every meeting are the seeds of parting, and then we will be able to see with compassion, and be able to hold those dear that we love without a clinging attachment and dependency that twist relationships into prisons. Everything in the universe is completely innocent and of the same nature. It is only this “I” thought, this “knowing” that causes our problems.

We can only get to know ourselves while we are conscious and aware, therefore we must use all our facilities to understand ourselves. Once we are able to change ourselves by understanding ourselves, we become extremely precious to others, and then magically, all other beings become precious as well.

There’s nothing I love more than a good romantic movie. Richard Gere overcoming his fear of heights to proclaim his love to Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman” gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

I remember crying my eyes out in “13 Going on 30″ because I wanted that type of love. I knew it existed but I never believed it could happen for me.

Ironically during my lack of love life at that time, I was helping many people connect and fall in love. I was happy on the surface and encouraged my clients to open their heart when I did Soul Mate readings and workshops yet I felt hopeless inside. “Fake it till you make it” was my mantra.

I read women’s dating books like “The Rules,” that gave me temporary strength. Yes, I’ll teach those men that I’m in control and I’m powerful and I don’t need any man.

The problem was, my soul was upset with me. My soul told me “Joanna, this is not the way to find true love.”

“Why?” I asked my spirit guide.

“Because you’re not in alignment with your heart’s desire.”

“The key is to live on purpose in your life. Stay focused on your goals. Give attention to and nurture your creativity. When you stop the flow and go outside of your own energy because “He” is calling you, the alignment of your soul gets knocked off track.”

“You get those terrible butterflies in your stomach when he doesn’t call, right?”

“Yes, what does it mean?”

I took my spirit guide’s advice and stopped answering my cell phone if I was in the middle of work. If I was feeling vulnerable, I’d turn off my phone and stay away from email until I’d completed all my tasks for the day.

Imagine you’re attending a live theatre show with friends. It’s interval and the inevitable question comes up: What do you think of the show so far?” This particular show is rather different and it’s vitally important to you – it’s called “Your Life”. You’re the star, the director, producer and script writer.

So, what do you think of your life so far? Like the stage show, there’ll be parts you’ve liked and parts you haven’t, people you’ve liked and people you haven’t. Are you hoping the second half of the show will be as good as, or better than, the first half?

There’s some other noteworthy factors about this show:

It’s the opening night and it’s also closing night – there’s only one performance
There’s no rehearsal
The script is being written as you go and much of the early parts were predominantly written by others for you.
How much are others still dictating to you what the script should be? Do you feel life generally is writing the script for you? In other words, do you feel you’re simply being swept along by influences outside of your control?

A play is written against a backdrop of external events but the plot is created by the writer. It’s the same in real life. You may not have control over the events that affect your life, but you most certainly have control over how you decide to respond to them. Therefore, no matter what is going on around you, you have the right and the power to write your own script.

The influences on your script so far can be looked at in terms of your work, home life and play (your discretionary interests). Of these, you may well have had the least control over your work, greater control over your home life and the greatest control over your personal discretionary interests which reflect how you enjoy expressing your true self.

Probably, however, the areas over which you have the greatest control have been given the lowest priority in your life’s development. Look at it this way. An acorn has all the ingredients to become an oak. Nature provides the necessary soil and water to reach its inevitable destiny of blossoming into a majestic tree. You were once the size of an acorn in your mother’s womb. That embryo contained all the ingredients needed to be who you are today – and much more. But life stunts our growth and we’re distracted from blossoming to our full potential.

Now is the time to remind yourself that the show has only one performance – and who knows how long it will be? It’s time to focus on the person within you, more than the world around you.

In scripting the rest of “Your Life”, get back to discovering, exploring and enjoying all of your embryonic talents and abilities that have been lying dormant or under-developed within you. There’s a wonderful person in there who so often hides behind a public mask, a passionate being who has much to offer but who is suppressed in favour of society’s version of success.

Focus the rest of your life on enjoying being the person your natural talents were begging you to become, the person who enjoys being the real you. The spin-offs will surprise you in terms of not only greater personal life satisfaction, but also better relationships with others, improved work/life harmony and a higher quality of work productivity. The Law of Attraction states that you will attract to you those people, events and experiences that match your state of being. If you focus on having gratitude for the love, companionship and joy you have in your life right NOW, you will attract more of that into your life. If you focus on what you don’t have, you will send out a message of lack and you will attract more lack into your life.

In the movie conversations with God, the character Neale says to God, I just want my life back. And God says to Neale, You can’t have anything that you want. They then have an entire dialogue where God explains to Neale that by ‘wanting something (or someone)’ all you get to have is the experience, the feeling of ‘wanting.’

As part of the preparation to manifest your soul mate I suggest that you begin the process of “living as if.” This means that your daily actions become congruent with your beliefs. For instance, I once heard a story about the great actress Della Reese. During the time she was waiting for her soul mate to arrive, she would set a place at the table for him each time she had a meal. Eventually, he arrived. Della had sent a clear message to the Universe and the Universe delivered.

Next time you are shopping for greeting cards, begin to buy some that express your love and joy for your beloved knowing that someday you will give them to him or her. Are there things for your home you are waiting to buy (or hoping that you will someday get as wedding gifts)? Buy them now! Imagine that you have been selected to host a King or Queen. What would you need to do to prepare your home? New sheets? Towels? Dishes? Plant a garden? Clear the clutter? You’ll know when you really, really believe your soul mate is on the way because creating the space for them in all areas of your life will become a priority.

The period of time when you are waiting for your soul mate to arrive offers an important opportunity for self-reflection. Consider this: If your soul mate had the ability to see your life right now, would you (and they) be happy with what they were observing? Are there things you would change once they arrive? Begin to live your life today AS IF they are already here. This may mean that you give up casual sex with your ex-lover or neighbor.

Remember, the process of attracting your soul mate is one of magnetism. When you make the choice to live as if your soul mate is already a part of your life, you send out an irresistible signal to the Universe that you are ready now. (As opposed to sending the signal that you’ll be ready someday – when you work less and your house is clean and you’ve lost ten pounds). Remember the famous line in the 1989 movie, Field of Dreams .starring Kevin Costner? “If you build it, they will come.” Living “as if ” is like flipping on a light switch inside your heart. This is the light your beloved will use to navigate his or her way to your door.

Believing that your soul mate is out there is critical to the preparation of manifesting him or her into your life. The basic law of attraction states that you will attract to you those things that match your state of belief.

If we believe the world is a chaotic, stressful and fearful place, then that becomes our reality. So, believing and knowing that your soul mate is out there is part of the formula for manifestation. If you do not yet believe with 100% certainty that your soul mate is out there, let’s begin to look for things that will make a believer out of you.

Do you believe you are loveable? If you are reading this then I am certain you are loveable. Why? Because, loveable people want more love in their lives. But, if you believe you are not loveable, I’m going to ask you to challenge that belief. Take a moment to identify at least three (or more) lovable traits that you possess, such as being generous, compassionate, friendly, kind, considerate, thoughtful, interesting, funny, etc. Write these down and then memorize them. You will be using them shortly for your treasure map.

I know many very attractive, successful single people who have some very negative, limiting beliefs when it comes to finding their soul mate.

The list usually goes something like this:

I’m too old.
I’m too fat.
I’m too damaged.
I have too much baggage.
I am too successful.
I am not successful enough.
All the good ones are taken.
Nobody I want wants me.

These are just knee-jerk excuses to keep you stuck. There is plenty of evidence that love is available to everyone regardless of age, weight or income or any other feeble excuse. What if I told you that it’s not your job to know HOW your soul mate is going to appear? It’s only your job to be ready, willing and open to love.

You don’t really know where air or water comes from but you totally believe that they are there for you. As a human being you know that air and water are your divine right. You know that no matter what mistakes you have made in the past, you are still going to wake up every day and have access to air and water.

The same is true for love. It’s there for you. It’s always been there for you. You just need to remember the love that you are and once you do, the Universe will deliver to you the perfect soul mate. There is nothing for you to do, there is only a way for you to BE.
